Jul 31, 2012   //   by Tony Tucker   //   Men's Suits  //  Comments Off

HOUSTON, July 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Men’s Wearhouse encourages customers to transform their unwanted business attire into a fresh start for millions of unemployed Americans in communities around the nation through the fifth annual National Suit Drive. The drive collects more than just suits — gently used shirts, jackets, ties, belts, and shoes will be accepted at more than 900 Men’s Wearhouse stores through July 31, 2012.

Donations to National Suit Drive are distributed to local nonprofit organizations around the country that prepare men and women to reenter the job market through resume-building workshops, interview preparation, and skills-training programs. Since donations stay local, community members need to donate so that nonprofit organizations in their area can help neighbors in need.

With only two days left, here’s how Americans can help:

  • More Than Just Suits: National Suit Drive accepts gently used professional attire, including shirts, jackets, ties, belts, shoes, and suits.
  • Women’s Attire: Women’s professional clothing is also accepted for National Suit Drive.
  • A Big Need: Dress shoes, and big and tall and plus-size business attire, are in especially high demand, according to National Suit Drive’s nonprofit partners.
  • No Donation Is Too Small: Whether it’s one tie or four suits, every donation helps. No matter how big or small the contribution, all donors will receive a coupon for 50% off the regular price of all retail items (excluding shoes and Everyday Low Price items) for their next Men’s Wearhouse purchase as well as a tax receipt.
  • Share Socially: Check out National Suit Drive on the Men’s Wearhouse Facebook tab and join the conversation on Twitter with #giveasuit. For every National Suit Drive mention on Facebook and Twitter, Men’s Wearhouse will contribute $1 (up to $25,000) to the cause.

In 2012, the Men’s Wearhouse National Suit Drive hopes to collect 110,000 items of professional attire. To donate clothing to the National Suit Drive, patrons may go to any one of more than 900 Men’s Wearhouse and Men’s Wearhouse and Tux stores across the country to contribute their gently used business attire. For every suit donated, Men’s Wearhouse will give two business ties to the cause.

BILLINGS – Men’s Wearhouse and Human Resources Development
Council are working together to make sure men in need have the
right gear for their next job interviews. They are collecting
professional men’s clothing during the month of July for their
second annual suit drive. The campaign, called “Give a suit. Change
a life,” encourages people to bring their gently used professional
clothing to the store. They will accept anything from suits,
shirts, and slacks to socks, shoes, and belts. Men’s Wearhouse
offers a half-off coupon to customers who bring donations. “I think
it’s a great opportunity for us to give back to the community, help
people out that are less fortunate trying to get into the
workforce, going in for interviews, needing the correct clothing to
look the part, and I’m just happy we can help people out and make
that happen for them,” said Sean Peterson, the Men’s Wearhouse
Billings Store Manager. Men’s Wearhouse has counted about 50
donated suits so far, but they’re also looking for foot wear and
personal hygiene items. They will accept donations after the month
of July. Click on Connections for more information.
